Annually held in Timonium, Maryland, the Midlantic Fall Yearlings sale has long been a vibrant market in a region that offers more racing than any other in the country. Held in early October, the Midlantic Fall Yearlings sale regularly features a variety of yearlings eligible for any of the region’s lucrative state-bred programs.
In 2020, Midlantic Fall Yearlings will be held October 5-6 to coincide with the rescheduled Preakness Stakes (October 3) in nearby Baltimore. All New York-breds will be catalogued in a group to accommodate the needs of New York-based stock displaced by the cancellation of the New York Bred Yearlings sale due to COVID-19.
A showcase of selected yearlings to be offered on Wednesday and Thursday, September 9-10, after the 146th Kentucky Derby at the Newtown Paddocks in Lexington, KY. All yearlings catalogued for the sale have been approved on pedigree and conformatio n by Fasig-Tipton's inspection team.
Since first established in 2013, the July Horses of Racing Age Sale and its graduates have produced 83 stakes wins, 28% stakes horses, and more than $43 million in earnings. Recent graded stakes winning graduates include PHAT MAN, winn er of this year’s Fred W. Hooper S. (G3); MARZO, winner of 2019 Sycamore S. (G3); and WAR STORY, winner of the 2019 Harlan’s Holiday S. (G3) and Monmouth Cup S. (G3).
